Ron Hodgson brings a powerful and marketable combination of academic insight and field experience to wildfire preparedness. As a retired university professor and nationally recognized expert in the human and social dimensions of Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) fire, he has spent decades working directly with at-risk communities to improve resilience and response strategies. His academic work focused on how communities react and adapt to wildfire threats, while his on-the-ground experience includes serving on incident management teams during active wildfire events.
Ron has led integrated community-defensible space efforts to reduce wildfire risk and is currently developing innovative approaches to structure ignition management and home hardening—key areas with significant potential for growth in mitigation services. He is also supporting Cal Fire with logistics for fire operations in the Los Angeles region, lending real-time expertise in high-risk environments.
Together with Ron’s support network and extensive knowledge, there is a unique opportunity to offer premium wildfire advisory and implementation services to homeowners associations (HOAs), local governments, insurance providers, real estate developers, and utility companies. This partnership can help protect lives, property, and infrastructure while meeting the growing demand for strategic fire resilience solutions.
